Before installing a new version of AnyFileBackup make sure that no copies of AnyFileBackup is running on your computer (stop AnyFileBackup service under Windows 2000/2003/2008/XP/7).

Note for users of previous versions of AnyFileBackup! - do not uninstall your existing copy of AnyFileBackup! - just install the new version over it. This will save effort and time.

1. To install the main module as a Windows service launch the AnyFileBackup Control Center, select FILE -> SETTINGS menu items and press Server Control button:

Fill the Start type, Logon as, Password fields and press Install service button.

Important! You will need system administrator permissions to install the Windows service.
Note: if the service user is not a member of the "Log as a service" user group you will probably need to re-enter the user password in the Service manager applet.

2. Also AnyFileBackup can work as executable application. To start the server module as the application select the following menu items: FILE -> SERVER CONTROL -> START AS APPLICATION in Control Center window:

To start AnyFileBackup main module from the command line type afbserv.exe /EXE.
