"Source folder" - a path to the folder(s) containing files to be monitored. It can be done manually, and it is also possible to use the dialog box to select the files. To open the dialog box click on the picture button right form field.

The path to files located on a local or network drive should start with the character assigned to this disk (for example, D:\Input, F:\). If the files are located on a remote computer, the path can be written using Universal Name Conversion (UNC), i.e. start with characters "\" and the name of this computer (for example, "\Server\Shared\").

"Include subfolders" - to follow changes not in the selected folder only but in the subfolders as well mark this check box. It is possible to specify a list of subfolders separated by ";" in the field below. To create the list click the icon at the end of the field. If all subfolder have to be included leave the field blank.

"File list" - enter the names of the files separated by ";" into this field. It can be done manually, and it is also possible to use the dialog box to select the files. To open the dialog box click on the picture button right from the field. It can be a filename or a name of a group of files. It is possible to use the "*" and "?" characters in filenames (for example, *.txt; A???.*). To include all files leave the field blank.

Exclude files and folders

"Exclude folder list" - you can set the list of folders excluded from monitoring separated by ";" in this field. It can be done manually, and it is also possible to use the dialog box to select the files. To open the dialog box click on the picture button at the end of the address field.

"Exclude file list" - you can set the list of files excluded from monitoring separated by ";" in this field.

The Include folders, Exclude folders, Backup folder, Include files, Exclude files fields can include %DATE=date_format% macro string.

"Report about" - you can select whether you want to count either new files and folders or new files only.

Extended Filter

"Enable extended filter" - enable or disable applying  of the extended filter.

"Extended filter properties" - the additional settings which allow to select the files by size or date.

"Copy NTFS permissions" - if the files are on an NTFS hard drive, you can preserve their permissions while copying, just mark the corresponding check box. However, please keep in mind, that for restoring permissions for copies of files you may need to acquire the rights of system administrator.

"If a file is in use or lock" - if a replicated file is in used by some other application and it is not acceptable for reading one of the following options can be selected:

"report the error" - the notification message will be created. The locked file will be marked for the replication after the task retry interval or on the next scheduled check cycle.

"skip the file" - the locked file will be marked for the replication on the next scheduled check cycle.

"copy the file snapshot (beta version)" - the locked file will be copied using the Windows XP/2003/Vista Volume Shadow Copy service (VSS) technology.  The file has to be located on a local computer. This option requires the service enabled on the computer . The option is currently in a beta testing stage.

"Skip folders without files" - do not replicate a folder if it doesn't contain files. Please note: the include, exclude and extended filters specified for the files and folders affect this option. Also this option has more priority than Delete empty folders option (see below).

"Copy file attributes" - to preserve the "Hidden", "Read only" or "System" file attributes, mark this check box.

"Reset Archive attribute of source file" - resets a file Archive attribute to indicate that the file was successfully replicated. This option can be used for compatibility with other software.

"Content adjustment" - mark this box to delete any extra files (which do not exist in the Source folder) from the Destination folder(s) and copy files which do not exist in the Destination folder(s) from the Source folder  to the Destination ones, i.e. every Destination folder will be exactly the same as the Source. Content adjustment doesn't affect destination folders if the folder name is in the list of the excluded from replication source folders. Please note if the source and destination roots are different it is necessary to specify full path in the exclude folder list to avoid the destination folder removing.

"Do not alert if source path is inaccessible" - if the specified path on a local or remote computer doesn't exist or the remote computer is off-line the task will not set ON ERROR condition and make any error messages. When the source path becomes accessible the task will be executed as usual.

"Store paths" - this option allows to store replicated files in the destination folders with no changes in paths or insert to the paths the last folder name from the source path. This way is useful if several different source folders are replicated to the same destination folder. For example:

SOURCE = C:\DOC;D:\DATA. DESTINATION = K:\BACKUP. If the option STORE PATHS = ADD START FOLDER NAME was selected the file from C:\DOC will be replicated to K:\BACKUP\DOC folder, the files from D:\DATA will be replicated to K:\BACKUP\DATA folder.

"Copy order" - parameter specifying an order in which the files to be copied:

without any order;

ascending alphabetical order;

descending alphabetical order;

older files will be copied first;

newer files will be copied first;

smaller files will be copied first;

larger files will be copied first;

"Delete empty folders" - mark this box to allow AnyFileBackup  to search and delete empty folders (the folders with no files or subfolders inside) after the replication is done. Please note: this option has less priority than Skip folders without files option.

"Move deleted files" - you can choose to keep deleting files in the system Recycle Bin or in an archive directory. Select appropriate item in the Move deleted files field and enter the path to the archive folder in the Backup folder field.

"Connect to remote host" - select a remote computer the task should connect to from the list. To add an account with the connection parameters for a new remote computer or edit the existing one you can in the account manager. To enter it press the button on the right side of the field

Track parameters

"Track parameters" - if one or several of the marked parameters (Timestamp, Size, NTFS permissions, Attributes, Checksum) of a file  is changed the file will be replicated.

Monitoring_Parameters

NOTE: checksum calculation could take a lot of time if a file is long.

NOTE: some parameters are not applicable for files accessing by FTP protocol.
