Replicate files by email
Traditional file backup methods allow to copy files between two folders. These can be local, network or server folders as well as remote computer folders and folders accessed via FTP or HTTP protocols.
However, there is at least one more replication method which may be extremely convenient. We mean 'file distribution' which works with email accounts. There are many advantages of this file distribution method:
- available for everyone: you can access a mailbox almost from any computer either via an email client or Internet browser,
- improved system security: mailbox becomes the only gate to the Internet from an internal company network and the only way to access the internal network from the Internet. Thus, structure of the internal company network is inaccessible from outside,
- global reach: file can be transferred between various places regardless their actual location. Only the Internet connection is required,
- cost effective: file distribution is performed via existing infrastructure and data links. No VPNs (Virtual Private Networks) are required to exchange files between company branches and offices.
You may use AnyFileBackup to perform file replication by email. Create a task with a mailbox accessible via POP3 protocol as a source as it is illustrated below:

AnyFileBackup extracts files from emails delivered to the mailbox and copies these files to the specified recipients. The 'recipient' is a local or network folder, remote server directory accessible via FTP or HTTP protocols or email address.

AnyFileBackup filters incoming emails by 'From' and 'Subject' fields searching for keywords. After this analysis AnyFileBackup copies attached file to the defined recipient.

File replication via email is a powerful and convenient method of file distribution. We suggest that you may use file distribution in wide variety of cases for delivery the files and information within your company.
